
Gulnar Shaimergenova

Mrs. Gulnar Shaimergenova was born in 1977. In 1994-1998 studied in the International Academy of Law and Business. In 2002 graduated from the Diplomatic Academy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Mrs. Gulnar studied executive education programs on strategic management at Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA (2010) and at Columbia Business School, Columbia University, USA (2013). She had an internship program at George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, Germany (2005).
In 2004-2015 she worked on various positions in the Ministry of Justice of Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies (KazISS) under the President of Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhaksaru Analytical group. During 2012-2016 she worked at Nazarbayev University.
Since 2016 she is the Director of China Studies Center 中国研究中心 in Nur-Sultan city (Astana), Kazakhstan's leading think tank on Chinese Studies.
Mrs. Gulnar regularly participates and gives public reports in international conferences on the modern development of China, organized by leading Chinese think tanks. She is permanent author of various publications in“China”and“Silk Road Review”magazine, published by Renmin Huabao.
Since 2017 Mrs. Gulnar is member of the International Association of Chinese Studies at the Academy of Social Sciences of China (CASS), Beijing, PRC. Since 2018 she is Co-Director of the Center Kazakhstan Studies at the Silk Road Institute, Northwestern University, XI'an, PRC.
