The China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE), founded on 20 March 2009, is a new type of think tank. Guided by the philosophy of “Originality, Objectivity, Rationality and Compatibility”, CCIEE aims to serve national development, improve people’s welfare and promote exchanges and cooperation by conducting research on strategic and economic issues both at home and abroad, developing international exchanges and cooperation, providing consulting services and intellectual support to the government and businesses in decision making.
CCIEE put forward the Proposal for the Establishment of an Asian Infrastructure Investment and Financing Institution, and CCIEE’ s major findings include Transformation of System and Mechanism of Economic Development Mode, Strategic Conception of Belt and Road, Guang- dong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Development Strategy Research. CCIEE has undertaken the evaluation tasks of major national strategies, including the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, and entrusted drafting of the White Paper on the Belt and Road Initiative. CCIEE has set up many high-end exchange platforms such as the Global Think Tank Summit, High-level Policy Forum on Global Governance, and China-U.S., China-EU, China-Japan, China-ROK CEO and Former Senior Officials' Dialogue. In so doing, CCIEE has played a positive role in the promotion of BRI, global governance, and bilateral economic and trade relations, China’s economy and regional development.
